Cakes for Occasions Chosen for National Ad Campaign
Danvers Bakery Featured in King Arthur Flour Ads to Appear in Gourmet and Yankee Magazines
Danvers, MA (October 12, 2006) - Cakes for Occasions, the Danvers-based bakery recently featured on New England Cable News and the Today show, is garnering media attention once again after being chosen to appear in a national ad campaign for King Arthur Flour. The full-page ads are scheduled to run in the November issues of Gourmet and Yankee magazines.
Cakes for Occasions owner Kelly Delaney was hand-selected by King Arthur Flour based on her celebrated reputation for creating the finest gourmet cakes and pastries using their product. The ads feature Delaney putting the finishing touches on one of her award-winning wedding cakes.
"I've never used anything but King Arthur Flour so I was thrilled to be associated with a product I believe in so completely," said Delaney. "It was a fun and exciting way to showcase both my work and their flour - an ingredient that is so essential to everything I do."
Delaney is no stranger to the media as her bakery, located at 57 Maple Street in Danvers, has garnered much attention recently including a segment on TV Diner with Billy Costa and a stint on the Today show when their "Pearls and Shells" cake was chosen as the winner for the 2004 Destination Wedding segment. The King Arthur Flour ads thrust the bakery into the national spotlight again and Delaney is ready for whatever comes next.
"I hope this is just the beginning of some new and exciting things for us. We're always enthusiastic about sharing what we do at Cakes For Occasions with as many people as possible," Delaney said.
Delaney, who received her culinary education from the Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland and the Cordon Bleu in London, opened Cakes for Occasions 10 years ago and is well-known for her intricately designed cakes and sinfully delicious desserts. She currently employs 15 pastry chefs who hand-craft nearly 700 wedding cakes per year.
