February - In partnership with CITGO, Citizens Energy works with thousands of oil heat dealers and local fuel assistance agencies in 17 states to provide deliveries of home heating oil to those in need. The Citizens Energy Oil Heat Program has delivered millions of gallons of discount home heating oil to poor and elderly households in Massachusetts and other cold weather states since 1979. March - Shiyanne’s Playground Fund was created shortly after Joy and Don Thornell’s beloved daughter Shiyanne Thornell, also known as ‘Princess Shiyanne’ to her family members, passed away in July of 2005. One of Shiyanne’s favorite things to do was to go to Endicott Park and go to the playground there for play dates with her best friends. She also spent many sunny afternoons and weekends at the park with her family. Helping to raise money for Shiyanne’s Playground Fund means continuing to support the renovation of the playground at Endicott Park. The money raised and the continued support from those in and around Danvers, Massachusetts will make the playground at Endicott Park the jewel that it is for North Shore residence, and more importantly, for the children.
