5/2/2011 – Cakes for Occasions Creates Special Dessert to Battle Breast Cancer
Danvers Bakery Participates In Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer May 2-8, 2011
DANVERS, Mass (April 27, 2011): – Give Mother’s Day some added significance this year by treating the women in your life to some incredible desserts while also helping in the fight against breast cancer. During the week leading up to Mother’s Day, May 2 – 8, more than 250 restaurants, bakeries, cafés and chocolate shops throughout Massachusetts will participate in Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer, including Cakes for Occasions, a nut-free gourmet pastry shop in Danvers.
From Monday, May 2, through Saturday, May 8, Cakes for Occasions will sell “Breast Cancer Awareness Cake Pops” to benefit the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This custom dessert consists of cake dipped in white chocolate, placed on a stick and garnished with pink ribbon sprinkle decorations. The Awareness Pops will cost $1.75 each, with 100% of proceeds benefiting breast cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
“We are thrilled to be playing a role in this event; fighting a disease that affects so many,” says Cakes for Occasions owner Kelly Delaney. “To be counted among those making a difference again this year is a huge honor for us.”
The Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer Breast Cancer Awareness Cake Pops will be available at Cakes for Occasions, 57 Maple Street, Danvers, beginning May 2, or can be ordered online and shipped nationally at www.cakes4occasions.com.
