Cake War hosted by Cakes for Occasions
Danvers, MA (May 24, 2013) – Cakes for Occasions hosts our first High School Cake War! This sweet competition featured five seniors representing their high schools in a challenge of both their cake decorating skills and their school spirit. Cake War took place on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 11am. Competitors were given three hours, cake, buttercream, decorating tools and supplies to create a three-tier cake showcasing their school pride. Competitor then carried their completed cakes from their work station to a photo area. Friends, family, fellow classmates and the public were on hand to cheer on their favorites, and were treated with slices of the yummy creations at the close of competition! Photos of each of the cakes were posted to Facebook and voting was open until 3pm on May 23.
This year’s Cake War was won by Kimberly Sousa of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School closely followed by Tess Greenberg of Beverly High School. Other finalists included Jamie Tarricone- Danvers High School, Ari Cipriani- Masconomet Regional High School and Catherine Kinsella- Salem High School.
